Tranquil comfortable setting. Lovely, genuine service without being intrusive. Nothing was ever too much or too hard for the service staff. Food at the restaurants/bar was excellent. Very hard for us to leave such an idyllic setting.
Traveller from Sydney Australia
Overlooking the green, rolling Tjampuhan Valley and located amid rich forestland, this inland resort is on the fringe of Ubud …More
Prior to arriving in our honeymoon hotel, we had stayed at 3 other hotels during the course of the wedding, and while they were all lovely, the Ayung resort was exceptional for us. We made the right choice of staying in Ubud and while the hotel is approximately 25 mins away from the center it is perfectly located. The room, staff, breakfast everything that we could expect was very good. Staff in particular were very friendly and attentive, the only criticism I have is that in the evening staff would visit each room with complimentary chocolate and the knocking at the door was a little too much. I'd suggest two knocks at the most.
Overall, however we were very happy with our stay, would highly recommend the hotel and Ubud as a destination. We take wonderful memories of our stay and left with a heavy heart, but a vow to return again some day.
Ubud Wana Villas are a 5 minute walk away from the main resort...where yiu would eat your meals. At first I was a little suspicious...as we drove up after dark...but my concerns were quickly put to rest. The room was excellent, and the staff was wonderful and highly professional.
With this location, the best part though is that your an easy minute walk away from the resort... and that 5 minutes takes you right past the edge of the Monkey sanctuary so you walk thru and past monkeys out on the street on your way to the resort to eat.... a great treat some guests staying at the resort holding may never be aware of.
Further your 50 meters away from a great americano at an open walled cafe at the corner (the Bali Bohemia)... where you can sit comfortably in the morning sipping your coffee while watching monkeys start their own day.
In the rear of the villa you have your own private pool and lounge area..to enjoy the sun and you may even see a monkey or two roam a nearby wall.
The resort and villas are a short 5 minute cab ride away from the main downtown of Ubud ($4-$5 usd) or an easy walk thru the monkey forest. ($3 usd per person)... making it a great location.. close but away from the noisier center.
I would recommend this location highly for a couple or family of 4 as the villa is quite spacious and everyone has room to relax.
Ubud is the arts and cultural centre of the island. This charming mountain settlement is 25 km (1 hour’s drive) north of Denpasar and comprises 14 villages dotted with palaces, temples, museums, galleries, shops, arts and crafts, and excellent restaurants. Other than a few nightspots, village life is quiet and serene. Don’t miss the nightly traditional dance performances and nearby Monkey Forest Park.
