Recognizing that this was a Ritz Reserve hotel, I left pondered the real meaning of "customized experience" vs. getting a little worn out. The service was 4.5 - 5 Star, the condition of the property was more like 3, and the lunch and dinner food was disappointing.
This hotel is located in a very quite area with a very nice ocean view. The hotel is a well designed and beautiful building. The faculties were clean and well maintained. Staffs were very friendly. The food served in the two restaurants were good. The hotel has a shuttle service to Krabi downtown or private boat tour with a very reasonable price.

The service is excellent at Amari. They go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable and welcome. However, the food was extremely disappointing and very expensive. Due to the location being far away from town, there are no other options except to go to Tubkaak resort next door. It's very unfortunate that the food is so bad as the resort is beautiful and everywhere else in Thailand has such delicious food at much more reasonable prices

The hotel was all we expected, clean, well appointed and serviced by some of the nicest people we have ever met. We had beach room 2411, wonderful views, fantastic bathroom, so well appointed, large bed (took me a week to find my wife in it), hard mattress which suited us. Couple of points to mention about room, could have done with a small drawer unit to keep undies etc in and the toilet was very low. Older people like us would have benefitted if there had been a hand rail nearby to assist with rising. Also outside shower could do with a hand rail for oldies to cling onto. Breakfast had everything we needed and more, a new provisions manager has obviously made a difference and the restaurant staff were so kind and helpful, especially Tiu, he went the extra mile and proved to be a real asset to the hotel. Location was great the entire hotel blended in to the trees and from the sea you would not know it was there, a lot of thought went into the design of the place. Beach Buffet meal was very disappointing, when we got there at 7.30 nearly all the food was gone, so we ate out at local places within easy car ride. Thought the mini bar prices were extortionate 60 for a small beer that you could buy in the supermarket for 20, so we didn't use it except for water. All in all, we had a wonderful holiday and health permitting, we hope to visit again.
We chose to stay in Krabi as compared to Aao Nang or Phi Phi because we wanted to stay somewhere more private and quiet as compared to the party towns. And boy did we discover this gem. This hotel is the perfect combination of privacy and luxury. Being 40 minutes away from the airport, it is located on its own private beach. Everything from check-in to check-out was just perfect. On arrival, we were provided with nice cold welcome drinks and led to our room. Our room was a raised villa with a nice outdoor private patio/ seating area. The room was clean and had every amenity possible. The layout of the room was great and had separate his and her closets, sinks a nice tub with a sun roof. They provided 3 complimentary bottles of water each day (a great thing in this part of the world).
Breakfast was in their pool and beach-side restaurant which had a great view of the water and the surrounding islands! Food was fresh and plentiful.
The biggest highlight of this resort is undoubtedly the staff. They were so accommodating and helpful that we couldn't thank them enough! They made our stay immensely pleasurable and enjoyable.
Speechless is the correct way to describe our stay at Nakamanda Resort. We were so impressed with the hotel and everything that we will definitely be coming back here.

To the west of Krabi, Tubkaek Beach sits just north of Klong Muang and flows into the Kao Hang Nak Natural Forest on the interior. The beach itself looks out onto the Koh Hong archipelago, and a day trip of the area provides a closer look at the islands. Tubkaek Beach is known for its relaxing atmosphere and soft sand, offering a respite from the bustle of nearby Ao Nang.
