We spent 10 days in one of the bungalows. The room and washroom was spotless, the beds are quite hard but regardless we enjoyed our stay. It's at the far end of East Railay so it was nice and quite and within walking distance to all the beaches in the area. There's no beach for swimming on this side of Railay but the pool area is fabulous at Sunrise. Beer is not on the menu but they do sell it in the restaurant.
I have not a single complaint about my stay at this hotel or at Railay. I did not want to leave. My room was large, clean and comfortable. I had one of the jacuzzi villas which was well worth the extra cost. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. The hotel is very quiet and calming.
We really enjoyed our stay at the resort. It was a great location overlooking the beach, perfect for relaxing and enjoying the sunsets. The staff were all very welcoming and friendly. We are a family of four (two teenagers) and had adjoining rooms. Each room was spacious and. Dry well maintained. I would definitely come back!!!
Hotel staff was efficient and friendly. Close to the beach. Quieter than alternative options on Railay Beach. You get what you pay for. Bathrooms were in typical Thai fashion, shower toilet sink all in same small space. Not a luxury hotel by any means but comfortable enough. Breakfast offered was best we received in Thailand. Neighboring monkeys and cliff views were a plus.
It is called Great View for a Reason.
PROS: Views, Breakfast, Pool
CONS: Free mini bar shouldn't be advertised (2 little juice boxes and 2 wee cans of fanta), restaurant (expensive and not all that good), Be prepared for lots of walking to room and to East Railay and beaches and restaursnts.
We weren't expecting too much here, since we knew we were on the cheap side of Railay- boy were we wrong. The location is perfect! After waiting for the next longtail boat in the heat, the choppy ride, and hauling your bag down the pier, most were then forced to trudge on to their hotels by foot (over sand!), but not us. Princess is the first hotel at the end of the pier, so while our boatmates were sweating with their bags we were cooling off with a wet cloth and fresh juice. The girls working the front desk were hands-down the sweetest hotel staff we met out whole trip. The were beyond friendly and had beautiful welcoming smiles- one girl even stopped my walking along the beach to see where I was going, and proceeded to give me a great spot to watch the sunset- I have no idea why she would bother, I think she was on break or going home. Too friendly. Much better than the more expensive hotels we stayed at! Our room was huge, clean, and had amazing views. The pools were both gorgeous, warm, and apparently open all night! We even had room service pizza delivered to one after-hours and it was no problem! This hotel was my favorite of the 8 we stayed at during our trip- and it was in the middle-range of the costs!! I wouldn't even consider staying anywhere else on Railay.
My husband and i stayed at Viewpoint for just over a week. The staff are very friendly. The room was clean but we had some issues with the cleaning service, wifi and hot water. The rooms didn't always get cleaned (you need to request to get it cleaned, but even when we did it didn't always get dome). The wifi would be on and off every day. They had individual hot water heaters in the bathroom but it wasn't always working. The pool was nice, the grounds well kept.
Although on a peninsula, visitors reach Railay Beach only by boat, 10 minutes from Ao Nang and 30 minutes from Krabi. The West Beach, surrounded by scenic limestone cliffs and tropical jungle, beckons sunbathers with soft sand and spectacular sunsets. The fantastic limestone cliffs challenge rock climbers from around the world, while instructors lead classes for less-experienced climbers.
