The stay was very nice, however the location is not ideal, unless you are ready to catch a ride to anywhere. There are two local restaurants which can be reached by walking on the beach, very dangerous to walk on the side of the road as the walk path has large open pits, which are very difficult to see during the night.
From the first email on my specific query to celebrating my 10th anniversary, I got help from Lilin always. The best part of our stay were the friendly staff. Smile comes naturally to them. Everyone (sorry if I am missing a name or mis-spelling due to ignorance) - Triana, Komang, Devi, Agus... everyone was so eager to help.
Room was awesome... right by the beach. We slept and woke up with the sound of waves. Washroom was so different than all other hotels. Open, with a natural fragrance. One this is worth mentioning is the water dispenser. Lilin has done a great service to us by offering as much water as possible, without additional charge, while other hotels charge for each small water bottle. The plunge pool was simply superb.
Only thing that could have been better is a kitchen for the hotel which serves the guest. The food is ordered through external vendors. It is difficult to keep track of the customization that way.
Last but not the least, it is not a cheap hotel. But the smiles, attention and simplicity makes it worth the money.
Friendly and helpful staff throughout the entire stay. Decent rooms for the price we paid; on our 2nd and 3rd night we received a free room upgrade as they wanted to do some cleaning services to our 'superior room'. Food was average but had a variety to choose from. Staff made us feel welcomed throughout the entire stay. Not every staff was able to speak fluent English but they made the effort to make sure no miscommunication happened throughout my stay there. Thanks Sunari for making my 1st trip to Lovina a memorable one!

What can I say - from the moment of our arrival we were treated like celebrities and the wonderful staff continued to pamper us for the duration of our short stay. The resort itself is more beautiful than the photos shown and a wonderful air of tranquility abounds. Our two room apartment was spacious, clean and extremely comfortable. The outdoor plunge pool was warm and sparkling clean.
We ate at both the poolside cafe and also the main restaurant and the meals were exceptional. Our goal had been to spend a few days of total relaxation and we couldn't have chosen a more ideal resort. We'll definitely be returning but this time we'll stay longer.
"Excellent resort if you want quiet with great food"
Excellent resort if you want quiet with great food, excellent staff, really nice pool and outlook.
The staff can offer some excellent trips. The cooking class with the local food market trip is excellent.
This hotel is beautiful - however, most of the other reviews are correct - the staff are pretty disinterested. The room we got was lovely but there was a whole farm of dust bunnies under the bed and in the bathroom. More from disuse I think than anything else - seemed to be abit of a ghost resort. We had no hot water the whole time we were there and although they did try and fix it - it was pretty low priority.
Our room had no TV and no fridge - there are NO safes in the rooms. (however we were later told that there were some at the desk) These were all advertised as being provided. We asked about an upgrade to the larger rooms that had a tv and fridge but were told that we would have to cancel our expedia booking and get a refund from them and then rebook there - as we were only there for 3 nights it just seemed too hard. We were the only guests in the whole place intially and even then - the staff were pretty disinterested.
The lane way to My Lovina is pretty overgrown at the My Lovina end and is a little daunting walking in the dark and the small bridge into it has no guard rails and would be really easy to fall off in the dark - these are small things but probably need to be addressed.
I would probably stay there again in the larger room - as I said the place is beautiful - however I would be better prepared next time.
This is a lovely hotel set in spacious, luxurious grounds. The buildings & rooms are reminiscent of Bali 40 years ago - lots of artwork & gracious architecture. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay as the huge gardens provide peace & quiet away from the road. If you want a laid back place to chill out, this is it. Unfortunately Lovina beach and the water are dirty & unappealing, but at the Rambutan you have 2 pools to choose from so you can cool off in comfort. Staff are very friendly & helpful.
Centered on Bali's quieter north coast, the black sand shore of Lovina Beach stretches for 12 kilometers. Dolphins sightseeing trips depart daily, and hand-carved dolphin statues are popular souvenirs. Snorkeling and spa visits are popular activities, but those looking to explore the area should visit Bali's largest Buddhlist monastery, Brahma Vihara Arama, and the enchanting Banjar Hot Springs.
